Responsibilities

This role is part of a wider technology team (Direct-to-Consumer Technology) focused on product offerings including online video streaming & video editing platforms. A Video Architect provides architectural design oversight across multiple development projects working closely with Business/Product stakeholders to shape Technology’s approach to support a product/proposition.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the solution architect in the video domain. You will bring your experience along to deliver a
  
  

solution that meets the product requirements and assist the developers in implementation of the solution.

• Evaluate challenges including but not limited to video ingestion, encoding, and playback technology.
• Architect will be tasked with creating roadmaps, finding solutions and providing consistent maintenance to ensure solutions remains technically sound.
• To take the architectural design lead – driving collaboration across multiple technical and agile
  
  

development teams between US and Europe – to deliver the next generation of Direct-to-Consumer

world-class platforms for on-demand, linear and live content.

• Review and integrate all requirements for the solution, including functional, security, usability,
  
  

performance, quality, and operations requirements. Review and integrate changes to the technical

architecture for the development, execution, and operations environments. Make all final recommendations regarding hardware, network products, system software, and security.

• Lead technical and design discussions with internal teams to help speed their adoption of new technologies and practices
• Create, present, and implement competitive solutions to analyze needs, gather specifications and situational requirements, and work with product team to create effective solutions specifically tailored to the product requirement.
• Handle change requests and the consequences of such requests for ordered and/or delivered offers from a solutions point of view
  
  

Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience as solution architect
• 7-8 years of experience in the video domain
• CDN architecture and cloud-based deployment
• Live and VOD video encoding (H.264, HEVC/H.265, H.266)
• Video packaging and OTT streaming (DASH, HLS, CMAF)
• Ability to understand and articulate business impact of technical decisions
• HTML-5 / mobile device / smart TV / JS-based video player
• Capture and analysis of Video Quality and User Experience Metrics
• Monitoring and management of video delivery for live, linear and on-demand content
• A proven track record of managing and delivering large-scale B2C projects.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
