The Role:
We’re seeking a dynamic Marketing Manager to own all of Downstream’s marketing efforts. This is a mid-associate to senior-level hire with leadership responsibility, including two direct reports (and more in the future).
This is a critical role that combines strategic leadership and hands-on execution to scale marketing in a high-growth startup environment. You’ll work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Operations to drive growth and position Downstream as the category leader.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business goals.
- Manage and mentor a growing team (2 direct reports to start).
- Build scalable processes and frameworks to support a growing marketing function
Account-Based Marketing (ABM) & Demand Generation
- Own Downstream’s ABM strategy, ensuring effective targeting, engagement, and conversion of key accounts.
- Collaborate closely with Sales to align marketing programs with pipeline and revenue goals.
Brand & Content
- Drive brand development and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Oversee creation of compelling content that supports thought leadership, customer acquisition, and customer retention.
Product & Marketplace Marketing
- Partner with Product to support launches, go-to-market plans, and messaging.
- Establish positioning that resonates with construction, equipment rental, and B2B marketplace audiences.
Analytics & Optimization
- Track and report on key marketing KPIs.
- Test and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI.
Requirements
Requirements:
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of marketing experience in a software company.
- Proven account-based marketing (ABM) expertise.
- Experience managing people, with at least two direct reports.
- Based in Dallas, TX (role starts remote, moves to hybrid).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in a startup environment.
- Exposure to the construction industry or B2B marketplaces.
- Strong understanding of AI-driven marketing tools and emerging digital strategies.
